Stoughton December 10th 1939

Dear Doris

We are still having cloudy weather and today not so cold as it has been. We have had terrible windy cold weather the wind lasted three days and nights. We were very glad when it stopped and mighty glad our chimneys were well fixed.

Theres a man just been here to ask us about those old sheds over to the other place. He says he will tear them down and clean them up there for the lumber. Mrs Barry told him that they belonged to you and nothing to do with me and got rid of him without letting him bother me. He left his name and address for us to let him know.

We have been invited over to Mrs. Austins in Brockton to dinner today. She is one I gave my ferns to (Mrs B’s hair dresser). I am not going my legs are too stiff and I don't feel like getting ready and going had too much rather stay at home and lie around if the freak takes me and do as I am a mind to Mrs Austin is a very nice and good hearted woman we like her
