I should have written my letter early in the day. but was reading a story I got interested in yesterday and wanted to see how it ended. it was longer than I thought for. haven't been able to do much reading lately, my eyes give out. my papers are enough for me to read nowadays.
We are looking for the Ballantines to come home from their weeks vacation, they had very good weather all through but Gertrude will have to go to work tomorrow. she was very nervous much in need of a quiet restful vacation + hope she has had it. Bill came over last night after I had gone to bed. I wish he would come earlier, but you cant say anything for it would be apt to put him out.
I am sorry you are roasting there, we are having it pretty warm here, but I wont complain as long as we dont have twisters or thunder showers but things are suffering for want of heavy rains gardens are drying up terribly, so are lawns. the most we fear now are destructive fires.
