Dear Folks,

With this spell of stormy weather, the way to pass the time will be good to write a letter to my folks who are far away but not forgotten.

I presume you are resting up & trying to catch up on your painting or may be at the museum working on insects. however I hope you are not having our cold stormy days & hope if it can be warm it will come soon, for we are heartily sick of this kind of weather. it is the coldest April that we can ever remember. Tuesday was an ideal day & it was that day I went to ride, but the next day was cold & rainy and the same to day. wind in the North West. 

They have forbidden us to have bon fires on account of so many fallen trees since the hurrycane [hurricane]. the woods are full of them, it is a terrible sight, caused by the September hurrycane [hurricane].

Mary Holmes Winslow is moving to day, not a very good day as it raines occasionally. she had a good many things to move & will enjoy her home. she drives her own car so
