General,
At the solicitation of friends, who as yet are unused to the blessings bestowed upon them by a generous Government, I respectfully ask a position in your Bureau, in some up Country district of this State. Being intimately acquainted with the many wrongs and acts of injustice committed upon our recently adopted citizens, I am anxious to devote my whole energies, to the furtherance, of their welfare. Having been but recently employed in their behalf, I can enter upon any duty assigned me, with confidence of rendering full satisfaction
