during colored schools, they do not now oppose the education of the negro as was the case a year ago, at which time a Baptist preacher who attempted to open a school was seized by a mob and escorted out of the County with threats to hang him in he event of his returning: that troops are necessary at this time to protect schools I do not imagine, the school at this town is seldom ever molested, I have not heard at any disturbance at any of the others,
