I have not neglected asking for it, or for such papers as would enable me to get it. My expenses were such that I was compelled to procure a horse of my own and feed for the same, and that, with paying Mr Cuthberts bills, has left me without as much as a dollar today that I could call my own.

You obedient servant
P. F. Duggan
Sub Assistant Commr.
