Office of Sub Asst. Com. B.R.F & A.L
Victoria, Texas, October 27' 1866

S. M. Wheelock Esqu. Supt. of Schools
for freedmen & Refugees State of Texas
Galveston.

Sir!

Mrs. Harris has showed me a letter, in which you promised her, to endeavor, to recover the money paid by her, for rent of the schoolhouse, how, from May 14" to Aug. 31". 1866. I have therefore prepared the necessary Vouchers, which are herein, enclosed, as Mrs. Harris is a very hard working teacher, and has already lost a good deal of money, - freedmen being unable to pay; - you would confer a great favor upon a deserving lady, by assisting her to be reimbursed.

Very Respectfully
your obdt. Servant
Edwd. Miller
Capt & S.A.C.
