Dear Mr. Ginn,

I was indeed sorry not to be able to have the pleasure of Miss Ginn when she was in New York lately. I unfortunately missed her visit when she dropped in our gallery and as she did not leave her address I could not get in touch with her. However, I expect that I will have the privilege of receiving her the next time she comes to this city.

After weeks of waiting, I have finally received word from Paris that Marcelle LERDER died eighteen months ago. This came as a surprise to me as I still very well remember taking tea with her some years ago and at that time she still looked so young that I never thought I would not always see her around. We will therefore be unable to have your lithograph autographed by her.

You will be interested to know that I had dinner one day this week with my friend, Missia Sert, who before was Mrs. Edwards and before that Mrs. Natanson, but who through these different happenings always remained one of the favorite models of TOULOUSE-LAUTREC. Indeed in the last exhibition of the works by this artist in New York, there were three portraits of hers and I think that there are some lithographs representing her. Therefore, if you come into the possession of one of them, Missia Sert would be delighted to autograph it for you.
Incidentally, I showed her a very lovely picture by VUILLARD which I bought recently and which is dated 1892, and she told me it was her portrait.
I hope that if you come to Paris this summer we will have the pleasure of dining altogether, and looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you, please believe me to be,
Yours very sincerely,
C. M. de Hauke.
