THE GREATER NEW YORK FUND
FIFTY-TWO BROADWAY [seal of The Greater New York Fund] TELEPHONE WHITEHALL 3-9440
NEW YORK, N.Y.
March 9, 1939
Mr. G. Seligmann
Jacques Seligmann & Company, Inc.
New York, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Seligmann:
This is to thank you for accepting the Chairmanship for your organization in the 1939 campaign of The Greater New York Fund and to welcome you most heartily as a member of the Employees' Endorsement Committee.
The enclosed scroll bearing your name is a certificate of membership which we hope will be helpful in the fulfillment of your duties.
Inasmuch as the Campaign does not open until April 17th, it is not planned to solicit contributions before that date. The intervening period however, may be used to complete plans and to conduct the necessary educational work. The material needed for this purpose will be forwarded shortly.
Also we shall send you an invitation to a cocktail party, given through the courtesy of one of the leading distilling companies, for the purpose of reviewing the interesting high lights of the campaign and for meeting Mr. Parkinson, President of the Equitable Life Assurance Society, as well as some of the other prominent members of the campaign.
Needless to say, I am delighted at this opportunity of working with you and look forward keenly to the pleasure of seeing you at one of our parties.
Sincerely,
George J. Lyons, Chairman
Employees' Endorsement Committee
