Dear Mr. Greene:

Always bearing in mind your great interest for exceptional drawings and especially portraits of importance, I feel you will be interested to know that we have just acquired what I consider to be the most magnificent free pencil drawing by Millet.

it is the Portrait of Madame Alfred Sensier, the wife of the well-known art critic and friend of Millet. This drawing is so remarkable and so much in the lineage of great drawings by Clouet, Lagneau and Quesnel that I feel convinced you will be extremely interested in it.

May i send it to Cleveland for you to look at? I am certain you will find it worthwhile.

Hoping to hear from you in the near future, and with my best wishes,

Please believe me to be

Yours sincerely,

(C. M. de Hauke)
