Dear Mrs. Guillaume:

I wish to thank you for the kind lines you wrote me. Indeed, I hope that our conversation shall prove useful, and that we will be able to cooperate successfully.

The purpose of these lines is to ask you to be kind enough to send us here in New York, at your earliest convenience, a consignment invoice for the Cézanne still life painting "Apples", which you left with us. We need this for the good order of our books.

We hope that we shall be successful in selling this picture shortly.

With best wishes,

Please believe me to be,
Yours very respectfully,

(C. M. de Hauke)
