Dear Mr. Hanley:

I have read with great interest of the loan exhibition of your collection at the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy which, indeed, appears to be extremely fine and comprehensive in its scope.
I do not know whether you come to New York very often or whether this gallery is known to you, but as we have handled so many paintings, drawings and water colors in the field of the French 19th century, I felt sure that you would care to stop in here some day and give me the privilege of showing you some of our items.
Remembering that you have some Picassos in your collection, I am sending you under separate cover, two catalogues of the Picasso Exhibitions held last year and this year. The one, as you will see, is an exhibition of Picasso's works devoted entirely to the Blue and Rose Period, whereas this year's shows the evolution of the painter over a period of twenty years. Both catalogues are fully illustrated so that I feel sure they will afford you much pleasure and that you will like to keep them for your library.
Trusting that I may have the pleasure of greeting you here when next you are in New York,
Please believe me to be
Yours very sincerely,

(Robert M. Levy)
