[[Handwritten]] The Harrimans [[/handwritten]]

Miss Cochrane,
1 East 69th Street,
New York City.

Dear Miss Cochrane:

Referring to your visit yesterday, I have asked our Bookkeeper to go through our books and I find that there was no record whatsoever of our having sold Mrs. Harriman four Tapestry Panels for $4,000.- in March 1915.

It may be, however, as I explained to you, that the sale was made with our Paris firm, in which case it would not be mentioned in our books here. I have, therefore, written to Paris regarding this matter, and when I hear from them I will communicate with you again.

On the other hand, as I told you, the transaction may have been made with Arnold Seligmann & Co., now known as Seligmann Rey, 11 East 52nd Street, so I would suggest that you make inquiries from them.

In the meanwhile believe me to be
Yours very truly,
JACQUES SELIGMMAN & COMPANY, Inc.
