Dear Mr. Seligman,

I am sorry not to have replied before to your second letter about the Velazquez. In fact I have just sold the picture to a private collector.

Soria's book on Spanish Painting has been published in the last few days; it is in the big Pelican series under the general editorship of Prof. Pevsner. Our Isabella is illustrated opposite the National Gallery's Silver Philip and has a very good write up, particularly in the notes.

I am sorry that we cannot therefore do any business over this picture, but I will let you know if anything comes my way, that I think might interest you. In anycase I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you when next you are over.

I will not forget the collection of early objects you mentioned.

Yours sincerely,
Michael Harvard

Germain Seligman, Esq.
