Dear Mrs. Haskell,

I have been disappointed not to have had the pleasure of your visit since I saw you in Chicago, as you promised me that you might call in to see us. In the meanwhile, I would like to tell you that the two Hubert ROBERTS about which I was talking to you have been sold, but since then, we have acquired two very famous 18th century English portraits from the celebrated Sackville Collection, and it occurred to me that you might be interested to see them. I hope, therefore, the next time you come to New York, you will have a little time to spare to come in to see me, as under any circumstances, I am sure you would like to see these two pictures in question.

By the bye, I am sailing for Paris on the 29th of April, so I hope you will be in New York before my departure.

In the meanwhile, with my kindest regards to Mr. Haskell and yourself, believe me to be

Yours very sincerely
(Clyfford Trevor)
