Dear Mr. Haskell,

I have just returned from a business trip in California, and find your kind letter of the 3rd inst. awaiting me. As a matter of fact I had intended to come to your city about two weeks ago, but a sudden call to California prevented me from doing so. However, I hope to be coming out very shortly to Chicago, and I will notify you beforehand when I intend leaving.

Taking this opportunity of thanking you for your kindness in offering to get an introduction for me to Mr. Insull, and with my kindest regards to Mrs. Haskell and yourself, and hoping that you are in good health, believe me to be

Yours sincerely,

Frederick T. Haskell, Esq.,

Chicago, Ill.
