My dear Mrs. Haughton:

My friend and associate, Mr. C. M. de Hauke will be in Boston next week, and as I myself am unable to join him, I have asked him to telephone you regarding the two Corots which we have corresponded about recently.

I should appreciate it very much if you would receive Mr. de Hauke, and know that you will enjoy showing him your pictures and talking to him about them.

With many thanks in advance for your courtesy and with regrets that I personally will not be able to see you, I am

Yours very sincerely,
