December 31st., 1932.
Dear Sir:
We have had during the past month, an exhibition of drawings and water-colors of the 19th. and 20th. Centuries, which finished today.

During the exhibition quite a number of people told me that you were the owner of an oil painting by Manet, of which we have a wash-drawing. Thinking it might interest you to see it, I thought of dropping you these lines to let you know about it and also to tell you that I hope you will have a few moments to spare in which to come in and see it.

Trusting that I may have the pleasure of your visit,

Kindly believe me,

Yours sincerely,

Horace Havemeyer, Esq.,
