Dear Mrs. Hickox:

Although we have not had the pleasure of seeing you for quite some little time, I am taking the liberty of writing you this letter to tell you that I have just returned from Europe, and while I was over there we purchased three very fine 18th Century portraits.

The first being a superb portrait of a Miss Elizabeth Dalyrimple by Sir Henry Raeburn. The second, a rare portrait of the 1st Earl of Guilford by Gainsborough. And, the third an extremely decorative and fine portrait of Captain Milnes, one time Governor of lower Canada, by Romney.

We have also recently acquired what is considered to be one of the most beautiful portraits of a young girl by Vigee Le Brun that has ever come to this country. We will be delighted to show you these paintings at any time you could conveniently call in here. In the meanwhile, looking forward to the pleasure of your visit, believe us to be,

Yours very truly,

Jacques Seligmann & co., Inc.
