younger she would take her in her lap for comfort. she would like to have her come & see her, or call her up on the phone she is Mamie Kates age. She has sent Mrs Barry her first xmas present her sister Ally who she lives with, is too stingy to send her even a card & getting one from Mamie did her more good than you can think. her Sister Josaphine is generous they live in Ohio & are very different.

Elizabeth Southworth called her up on the phone yesterday. she tells about how much of the time she is alone some times way into the night, as Lloyd works in Boston she says if she could get hold of the right party, she would let a room so to have someone in the house for company but her son wouldn't consent to the arrangement. no one could blame her as she lives in such a gloomy house way back from the road. people dont like her but we do. she is very loyal to her friends & helps them if needy. Ella Southworth Franks widow, she helps she used to go to high school when I did, we liked her very much. she has always kept in touch with me. she is needy, out of health & lives over in Avon with her daughter who lost her husband. she used to be superintendent of the old buryinground & brought it up to where it is at the present time. thats where all my family are buried, the Talbots. the sun is coming out now & I am glad for Sunday is a long day when it is stormy its worse. it is clear now.
