Stoughton October 26th, 1941

Dear Doris

We are having cool days & also windy ones we got Mabel to tell her father last night to come & put on the outside windows, he has just come to put them on. the house will be made warmer as we have had lots of wind. he says his wifes back is much better.

Our heat feels good these cold nights and mornings. in the middle of the day its sunny & warmer

We had a fish chowder from a can of fish flakes. where did you buy the can you had while you were home? was it at the A & P? ours we got were not as good as those we thought. they were in finer pieces but fresh. Perdiguo does'nt keep them.

It has been so windy that most all the leaves that have fallen have blown away down street. hope the rest go the same way. they have had snow flurries north of us. I dread snow storms, one feels shut in it makes slippery walking also.

The family opposite wher the Venies lived are moving a few things in & the attic woman has had her
