Dear Doris

Another mild sunny fall day, I only wish such weather would continue with the wind in the south. but when it gets into the north west it is'nt [[isn't]] so agreeable. we need more rain.

The Ballantines [[Ballantine's]] have a new stove for their kitchen, an electrical oil stove, the stove was bought out of Boston last night & Deacon has been here all day working on it. they only had a gas stove & that was not much for heating they were going to prevail on the old Aunt to see if she would not advance money to help pay for it. it must have cost them over two hundred dollars.

Hazel Drake was over here last night to pay her rent & she said that her nephew who lived in the down stairs apartment in Sidneys [[Sidney's]] house, works in Tom Woods shop & he got him into one of his houses & gave him an electrick [[electric]] refrigerator & a gas stove. the Walls carouse so nights it desturbes [[disturbs]] them. we hear they have regular drunken brawls & the neighbors cant bear
