Dear Doris
The weather has been cool but its now warming up. Yesterday was hot & the day before but after the cloud came up in the west Monday considerable wind came also, so it cooled us off. Yesterday was very comfortable but this morning it was cold & a fire seemed good its now warming up we have a wood fire which will go out after dinner. Loving new fall weather.

The man who dug the cesspool came over & Mrs Barry she went over there & looked at it, he pointed out every thing to her and she says it looked very satisfactory. She asked him about how long it would stand and he said 10 years or more. He looked to be an honest man. these Italians as a rule seem to be defendable. The Drakes were going to take a bath that night they are very much pleased with it & she told them it was a good expense & they finally were aware of it & will be waiting to pay more rent I payed him the price he asked $40 which you left.
