I have the honor to submit my report of investigation into the charges preferred against Lieut. F.W. Leidtke 43r=d U.S. Inf'y Asst. Sub. Asst. Comr at Monck's Corner S.C. by Sanford W. Barker Magistrate. 

As the names of the parties from whom the information was derived, were not given by Mr Barker, I called upon him for them, and he gave me the names of the following freedmen as witnesses to substantiate the charges. Thomas Randall, and Anthony Geddis as to the charge of shooting and the name of Hester Simmons as to the charge of illicit intercourse. Mr Barker said these charges were a neighborhood talk, and therefore I examined the neighborhood, both white and colored, as witnesses, also others in differ[[ent]]
