A reference to these letters will plainly show what a Scoundrel this man Barker is. If I were a Civilian, I would thrash him as he deserves, but as a Soldier I leave it to my Commanding Officers to deal with him. 
This reference to my private and family affair is contemptible beyond bounds. Dr. Barker was last Summer my family physician, and should be ashamed, if there is really and Shame in him. 
He not only wants to destroy my official reputation, but also bring unhappiness and discord into my family; all this because I have done my duty unflinchingly.
If I have had disagreements with my wife, they are past now and if anyone is made unhappy
