having come he said to show Anthony's brother his way here, & I again ordered him off, & he went, & I know the Capt. did not shoot at him then, & since that I have not seen him.

It seems, however, that Martin thought the Capt. owed him some money, & when he came over to my house, the day he was dismissed, he spoke of it to Anthony, & Anthony took the matter up very warmly, & was heard to say he "wished he Capt. owed him that money, he would get it", & that he "meant to try & get it for Martin", so I suppose he is the person from whom Dr. Barker received his information.
