General
I have the honor to request that I be permitted to take up upon my Form 2 for October one house occupied for school purposes situated in the town of Meeting St. Edgefield Co S.C. belonging to D. C. Tompkins Esq at the rate of $20.00 per month. Mr. Tompkins intends to devote the amount received from the rent of his house to the employment of a competent teacher in a school which averages 40 per day attendance and which has heretofore been partially sustained by himself and Freed people.
