Dear Sir,
Your favor of the 14th inst has been recd. Mr Pankey the former teacher of our school is forming this year some two miles from this place, The patrons of the school of the Baptist faith desired the services of Miss Campbell who is of their persuasion as a teacher and Mr Pankey not wishing to obstruct their wishes, retired, she expresses a willingness after his crop is gathered to return to teaching under the patronage of the board, Miss Campbell gives as a reason for not reporting to your Bureau that she is teaching an independent school that her session will expire in July, and that she has heard nothing directly from the board, she expresses a probable intention of taking service under the state if the legislature adopts a liberal free school system, we have two acres of land at Prairie Plains upon which we propose to build a house for public worship free to all denominations, and at the same time for school purposes free to all who may wish to patronize it, we want to occupy this field immediately but will probably fall short of funds in erecting our building, can you help us and to what extent? We want to put up a building of sufficient dimensions to accommodate the community
