D. Sir:

Mr. J. B. Simpson an Atty. of this place, presented to me a letter of transmittal dated May 28th 1869 from the 2? Auditor, stating that Certificate No 532_ 257 for $108.40 was included being bounty & pay due M.H. Gibson, late Corporal "G" Co. 10 U.S.C.T. Stamped across the letter in red ink - & dated Aug 16/69 it states the duplicate letter of transmittal is forwarded Gibson, as a notification that the claim was allowed, and that the Certificate had "been" forwarded to the Freedmen's Bureau this day" Not more than the usual time has elapsed for it to reach here through the channels, but this being the first case of this kind I have had, I thought best to notify you, to see if any thing, but let things take their course, could be done in this matter Very Respectfully
Your Obt Svt Louis W Stevenson
