Dear Sir: 

We thank you for your letter of September 28th, and in accordance with your request, we beg to hand you enclosed herewith our invoice for the MASQUERIER "Portrait of Mrs. Elizabeth Joan Fuller" which you bought when you returned the "Portrait of Mrs. Benjamin West". 

The bill amounts to net $2,900. (special price) from which we deduct your two payments of $1,000. each, one first made for the Benjamin WEST, and the second made by you in Paris, leaving a net balance due of $900. 
According to our books, you have now on sale from us the portrait by CHINNERY.
