Dear Johnson,
We have just received your cable and are sending the West to New-York with instructions to have it forwarded on to you immediately it arrives.

I might mention that we have not had time to have it relined, but, if necessary, you can probably have it done in Chicago.

I really think this is one of the most interesting paintings by Benjamin West I have ever seen and it would be well worthy not only of any private collection, but any Museum.
