December 4, 1950 Dear Edouard: I am much indebted to you for your letter of November 29th., in answer to mine of the 18th., and for your telegram as well as for your letter of December 2nd., with photograph which I have just received. It is good of you to pay me such nice compliments but it was obvious that the paintings I was interested in were evidently the most important ones in the exhibition, and I do want to congratulate you for the success and speed with which you achieved such sales. The Picasso of which you sent me the photograph is a painting I have known for a good many years, as in fact I had it in one of my Picasso shows fourteen or fifteen years ago. I shall gladly go to Lowy (1) to look at it as I assume he is the one you have in mind, but I am afraid it is not exactly the type to lure me particularly. The lithograph by Cezanne is unfortunately of no interest to me. Do let me know ahead of time when you contemplate being here as I would enjoy seeing you and having a chat. Meanwhile, with renewed thanks and best regards, Sincerely yours, (Germain Seligmann) Edouard Jonas, Esq. P.O. Box 63 Ellinwood Kansas (1) Do you mean Lowy the framemaker or Gaston Levy?
