Mr dear Sir:

Do have my thanks for your very nice lines of January 20th.

It is good of you to remind me of your visit which I am sorry to say I had not remembered when I received your Christmas card.

You are writing about two comparatively small Italian bronzes of the 16th century and, though, offhand I am afraid that they are not exactly the kind of works of art I am looking for, I would be glad nevertheless to receive photographs of them, as long as you suggest this.

On the other hand, answering your request, I regret to have to inform you that I do not own any of the charming Flemish sculptures you refer to, but to reciprocate your courtesy, I am forwarding herein the photograph of the Spanish wood sculpture, "Saint" of the XII century now-a-days a great rarity even in Spain, I believe. I assume that it must have been part of some altar piece comprising of a series of saints or perhaps even apostles. The dimensions are on the back of the print.

Meanwhile, as I wrote to you previously, do bear in mind my interest for large size marble or bronze sculptures of a very high quality particularly of the 15th and 16th centuries.

I mentioned to you, I think, that quite some time ago, I purchased several sculptures in you country-and other ones should still be available, especially in cloisters or monasteries.

Looking forward to hearing further from you and with personal greetings,

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
