Dear Mr. Lorillard:

Although I have not had the pleasure of seeing you for quite a long time, I am writing you these few lines to ask you whether you would be interested to see a remarkably fine portrait by COUTURE which we own.

Personally I consider it one of the finest portraits painted in the 19th Century.

I would be very pleased to show it to you at any time you would care to call in here.
