  (7)Double-sided, red chalk on gray paper, seated, profile, head resting on left arm: on verso, a very similar pose, some of the lines heightened with black ink. 9 x 13 1/2 inches, 227 x 347 mm. £30
 327. Bright (Henry, 1814-1873) Pastel: in a flat landscape with farm-buildings by clump of trees on right, a partly-ruined white windmill on which sun shines from mostly-dark sky: though not signed, the attribution seems fairly certain. 8 1/4 x 12 1/4 inches, 210 x 310 mm. £15
 328. Cristall (Joshua, 1767-1847) Black chalk, touched with coloured wash. Signed. Inscribed & dated: "Rocks near Dolgelly, 26 Sepr. 1820". On two (joined) pieces of paper, 9 x 14 inches. A fairly extensive wooded & rocky landscape. Paper watermarked J. Budgen. £24
 329. Dunlop (R. O., born 1894, a founder of the Emotionist Group: his works are in the permanent collections of numerous museums). Large preparatory oil-sketch on paper, seated female nude, facing, 20 x 15 1/2 inches. £45
 330. Grant (Sir Francis, P.R.A., 1803-1878) Brown wash over faint black chalk, on green paper, about 2 x 2 7/8 inches, a most lively little drawing of a coach & four travelling at speed. £6
 331. Richmond (Sir William Blake, R.A., 1842-1921) A highly-finished study of drapery on the shoulders & torso of a woman, about 8 x 6 inches, on a larger sheet. On verso, a half-lengthed pencil study of nude seated woman. £10
 332. R. Suddaby: bright watercolour, signed, dated 1936. A brown-sailed yacht, two men in row-boat near, in a fresh breeze. 8 x 10 3/4 inches, 205 x 275 mm. £40
 333. (Attrib. to Dame Ethel Walker, A.R.A., 1861-1951) Watercolour-sketch over faint black chalk, head & shoulders of a girl with a feathered hat, red & blue dress, 19 1/4 x 13 inches (traces of a horizontal fold across her chin), the head is life-sized. £42
 334. (Russia) Two black chalk drawings, signed with initials, by Edward Tennyson Reed (1860-1933) relative to Russia during & just after the First World War. 15 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches, 390 x 295 mm.
  (1)Lenin & Trotsky, (as wolves) slink past the corpse of a beautiful woman as (Imperial) Russia.
  (2)Russian soldiers, returning from the front are confronted with Kerensky (born 1881) who in 1917 became Minister of Justice & Minister for War, holding a pistol against them. The two drawings for £30

 335. (Germany) Three black chalk drawings, signed with initials by Edward Tennyson Reed (1860-1933) relative to World War I. Average size 14 x 11 inches, 355 x 280 mm.
  (1)Kaiser presenting hero's wreath inscribed "Riga" to a miserable little German soldier.
  (2)Kaiser woefully contemplates the uniform he wore in Jerusalem in 1898, & holds in his hand the news that the British have captered Jerusalem (in 1918).
  (3)Germany as fat woman with helmet & wings: the wing labelled "Austria" is broken & bedraggled. The three drawings for £18
 336. Lear (Edward, 1812-1888) Part of an autograph letter signed in full, (undated), including a humorous self-portrait & two drawings of ladies' fashions ("some of the blazing finery on the promenade belongs to the Establishment at Monaco... I could not help drawing on the spot... through want of exercise I am growing like a Chinese tumbler") underneath the quaint self-portrait he wrote ("correct coppy of a photograph"). About 75 words. Two fragments of an octavo letter now joined (with apparent loss of some words). Thr fragments total about 6 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches. £75
 337. English 18th cent., pencil profile head of a girl, lips parted in a smile, the eyes slightly upward, on white paper. This beautiful drawing is very faint-it was drawn that way; has not faded. 7 1/2 x 6 inches. £6
 338. English circa 1810, watercolour, cottages by a ruin, with figures & a pond with man in boat. 10 x 14 1/3 inches, 252 x 365 mm. £34
 339. (Sicily) Pencil landscape, early 19th century, in the foreground is the (suppressed) Benedictine Monastery of San Martino, near Palermo, founded by Gregory the Great in the 6th century: the building dates, however, from 1778. 15 x 21 1/2 inches, 380 x 545 mm. £10
 340. English c. 1830. Attractive watercolour in nice bright state, old houses & carts, with cliffs behind, inscribed on verso "near the Fish Market. Hastings". 3 7/8 x 5 5/8 inches, 98 x 144 mm. £10
 341. English watercolour circa 1850, a ruin & a large yew-tree & other trees, said to be near Box Hill. 7 x 9 3/4 inches, 177 x 246 mm. £8
 342. English mid-19th cent., watercolour, a very extensive rolling partly-wooded landscape (looks like Wessex) with small white farm-buildings. 5 1/3 x 10 5/6 inches, 136 x 271 mm. £10
 343. English mid-19th century watercolour head of a lively young woman, the face in the stippled manner. On paper 7 x 5 1/2 inches. Might be by J. Absolon. £5
 344. English c. 1880. Pen & Indian ink drawing for an imaginative fancy-dress costume for lady: very high loops of wire over her head: tiny lace bodice, veils from wrists: on the same sheet two more detailed studies of the interesting hand-dress. 6 1/2 inches square. £4
