Dear Mrs. Mestres,

Remembering what you told me the other day about probably having your grandchildren painted, as I told you, there is only one painter to whom you should give this commission and that is Harrington MANN who is universally considered to be the greatest painter of children living today.

As it happens, Mr. MANN is just finishing a portrait group of Mr. Joseph Widener's grandchildren, and likewise, the children of Mr. Junius Morgan. These portraits are not quite finished, but will probably be able to be seen by the end of next week, and it occurred to me that perhaps you might like to see them as they are his latest things. If you would care to see them and you would telephone me here, I should be pleased to go up with you to Harrington MANN's studio one day next week.

Trusting you do not mind my writing you about this matter, and taking this opportunity to thank you for your courtesy to me when I called up to see you with Mr. Samuels last week, believe me to be

Yours sincerely,

(Clyfford Trevor)
