You will please accept my thanks for your prompt attention to my letter of July 21st in behalf of Freedman John Dickson. I am requested by Dickson to ask you if you could have his children brought to Texas provided he would  deposit with you or subject to your order the amt. you might designate as necepary to pay their expenses. He is not able to go after them at present but can raise money to pay their expenses to Texas.

I shall be please to hear from you soon. on this subject

P.S. I would respectfully inquire if Leut Wheelock is still in Galveston. If so, I would like to say to him that the settlement of Freedmen about four miles east of Huntsville is still without a Teacher & much in need of one, & able to pay one. If a proper one could
