Mr Bradner came to call on her Sunday & brought a boquet [[bouquet]] of chrysanthemums. he says the church would be nothing without her they only had nine people in the church & eight in the congregation he told her last Sunday. I told him guessed by using a little Christian Science she would be all right, as she was getting on the mending side now. if more people would deny ailments instead of babying themselves up when they have aches & pains they would be much better off. ones imagination has a great deal to do with disease more than we think.

Now is the time they should get all the government workers into their offices, I should think their help would be needed with increased pay. hope the money will last. it scares me when they read the daily papers. I hope they down Hitlerism the Japs are not so dangerous. Winston Churchill is pretty courageous. I dont know what England would have done without our help & guess they realize it. theres a plenty of spies in the United States darn the old Germans, they are all alike & to be feared. I wonder if Dr Shorer is glad she is in her own country with all the money she earned in the U States. I could never bear her. she was mean & selfish like all the rest of them. glad she went home see how she used Sidneys mother who only took her to accomodate you. I saw enough of her when she went down to Glen Echo with Lena that Sunday.
