Dear Mr. Canaday:

It gives me much please to enclose herein my firm's invoice covering your purchase of the sketch by:

DAVID, J. L. "Mounted Warrior"

We have made it a policy to stamp every one of these drawings stemming from Album 10 with a rubber stamp "A.10", and this, you will understand, is for identification purposes.

However, it so happens that these last three drawings, yours being among them, having been framed while I was out of town, this additional certification was omitted.

I am wondering, therefore, whether you would mind letting me have this drawing for a few minutes so that I could afix this marking. Should you have no opportunity to come our way within the next few days, I would of course send for the drawing at your home.

With personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman

P.S. Simultaneously, we will have it photographed - this, I have learned had not been done either.
