Dear Mr. Talley:

Your letter of February 14th in answer to mine in connection with the article on famous women of history published on February 6th and in which my painting of "Empress Eugenie" appeared was duly received in my absence.

May I say that I appreciate your suggestion of publishing some mention of my ownership of the painting; however, I do not consider that this will be necessary, but I would like you to correct your photographic records and also advise Publicity Associates.

It would seem to me that if I can understand your oversight, I have difficulty in understanding why Publicity Associates communicates photographs in private collections without mentioning the owner's name. It is a matter of principle, and I would be perfectly willing to write directly to Publicity Associates were you to prefer this method.

Thanking you for your spirit of cooperation,

Very sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
