understood my position and I do not anticipate any serious interference or opposition from such sources again.

I find a very strong prejudice here amongst the whites against anything that looks or sounds like "Yankey" - especially against Negro school & Teachers - The Agt. here Capt Slone has been very ready to support me in all of my efforts. & through his firm policy and the warm support of the garrison at this post I think, I can notice the prejudice waining slightly, at least it is not so outspoken as at first. I think all will go well
