I am at a loss to know what to communicate, but in obedience with orders to write these few lines. Our school has not increased any since my last report, but I hope we will soon have a better prospect. My scholars are progressing as rapidly as can be expected; I have one girl reading in 3rd reader, and 2 boys, and 10 girls, in the 2nd reader, and 3 boys, and 6 girls, reading and spelling in the 1st reader. “McGuffey’s series”. 1 boy and 8 girls who can write their lessons.  My Sunday school attendants are very few. The two schools which I spoke of in my last report are still continuing. I spoke to Capt Sloan five or six weeks ago in regard to the matter and he said he would stop them, but he has not yet done so: and from what I can learn he has given the ladies permission to teach, though I have not
