Various: Some favor and some opposed the movement, but neither will take any steps to educate the Freedmen; in some localities next could it would be dangerous to organize Freedmens' Schools, unless protected by military force 17. Are Night-Schools for Adults needed in your District? yes In what way could they be carried on? By the Bureau [[?]] and employing teachers 18. What more can this Bureau do for educating the children of Refugees (or Poor Whites)? Noshing, as they don't wish "Yankies" to educate them 19.
