I had company Saturday afternoon Gladys came with a young lady & I didn't know her. It was Burts girl & too we thought she was the image of Burt. She is quite an interesting young lady. she is working in Boston, an Interior decorator, gets her room & board as a waitress evenings. Gladys works in Cambridge & they meet often.

She says Charley will not marry until next June. he sleeps day times and works nights. she goes away from home mornings before he gets home from work and is sleeping nights & never sees him. guess his ladylove has the benefit of the most of his waking hours. Alice Woods says she must want a home badly. "Anyone who can go those eyes must want a man very much". Burt was always the most intelligent one in the family. Alice Woods has grown thin & looks old & wrinkled. I guess her schoolteacher boarder & Mystic & her own teaching has supported them so far, hope she has good health & can continue but she has had lots of trouble so far & her face troubles her when she gets cold. Mrs Barry She called up Mr Turner yesterday as you said & he says he will order those trees & see that they will be set into the ground by the middle of April sure & you need not bother about them as he wants to order them right away. I will start my tomatoes as soon as I can get the dirt. I hope the snow gets off the ground in time. otherwise the plants will have to be bought in boxes. Hope we have an early Spring. now I will make my fire

love Ma
