Dear Doris

This is a cloudy day & weather reports prophesy a snow storm for tomorrow guess thats [[that's]] what is coming as the chill of snow seems to be in the air.

It was a very pleasant day yesterday for my birth day. Rachie called me up & talked to me on the phone she is very nice & pleasant she seems also in good health. Mrs Barry asked her how many egg she put into it, she said 8. then Kate Dykeman brought another very large cake, that hasn't been cut yet & about 5 O'clock Phoebie Hill came & she brought a nice chocolate cake. I had a nice talk with her & she is coming down after me when the weather gets decent, to take me up there to see her house & have a tea with her. she bought the Pennamen house & is anxious for me to see it since they made it over inside, its [[it's]] not a bit like the way it was when Aunt Elizabeth lived there. Laura Gebhart could not come she had a schollar [[scholar]] to teach but drove down
