she has stayed there now longer than anyone could get along with that horrid woman I pitty [[pity]] Hattie in her old age. she sold her house I think now she is living up with her brother Frank Atherton at the old home place.

Our leaves are falling fast there are enough left. the ground is covered.

The little begonia is full of blossoms it is here in the sun beside me, as I write my letter. my plants are doing well good many are budded. my chrysanthemums are coming along but I am afraid the frosts will get them before they are in full bloom long. 

We have a good piece of corned beef + cabbage + carrots for our dinner. there is meat enough for us this week + we dont [[don't]] need to worry. I suppose voting will be next this is the first time I am not going to vote. whats [[what's]] the use, I think its [[it's]] a waste of time. but shall be surprised if Dewey gets it. a terrible debt has been put on us to shoulder, guess the future generation will have to pay it me doesn't know how. Hope your cold gets better + Sidney does not get it. now I must close + make my bed.
