near view of a part of the peak not seen before but saw no sign of anything resembling a glacier & am now satisfied that none exist on this mountain. 

There is no well defined "fir belt" on the East slope - the firs occurring as scattered trees or in ridges up & down or slopes of caƱons usally intermingled with other trees.  Water is very scarce above 8000 ft. as already noted, the springs & streams on this slope mainly breaking out at from 6000-7500 ft. near the junction of the volcanic rocks
