My dear Mr. Ames,

These are just a few lines to tell you how truly disappointed I am to have missed your visit a few days ago.

Not only would it have given me much pleasure to renew our acquaintance at my galleries, remembering your cordial welcome in San Diego, but it would also interest me greatly to hear of your plans and continue thus the conversations I had with the late Mr. Frederick S. Parker.

In the course of these I had the opportunity of expressing certain views in connection with the problem that face today all those who are striving to build up a collection of works of art of the highest merit which I know is your purpose.

Hoping I may soon have another opportunity of seeing you either in New York or in San Diego,

I remain,
Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
