Dear Mrs. Pratt:

It is a great many years since I had the pleasure of calling on you in Brooklyn. If I am taking the liberty of writing to you now, it is on account of a recent purchase I made of a most interesting and beautiful piece of Gothic sculpture.

The group to which I refer is in marble and represents the Trinity, which, often represented in the 15th and 16th centuries, is hardly ever seen at the end of the 13th century in France.

The extreme scarcity and high quality makes this piece worthy of your Collection, and I would indeed enjoy having an opportunity of showing it to you.

Should the inclemency of the weather make you hesitate to come here, I would gladly send it over to your home, as it is not very large.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Pray believe us to be
Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
