My dear Mrs. Pratt:

Mr. Germain Séligmann, the head of Jacques Seligmann & Co., has given me the herein enclosed letter of introduction to you and I would be much obliged if you could grant me an interview.

The purpose of my visit is to discuss the possibility of my client purchasing the early Gothic tapestry you own.

May I take the liberty of calling you up in a couple of days to inquire whether and when it will be agreeable for you to receive me?

Pray believe me to be,

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Harold I. Pratt, 58 East 68th. Street,
New York, New York.
